Jean is an experienced writer and director whose first film won the Norman McLaren Award.

Writer and director of the first feature film in IMAX 3D, Jean has also directed several short action films and documentaries.

Completing the Unfinishable was awarded the Gold Magnolia in 2008, the top prize in the field.

The action-packed film Naufrage dans l'Ungava is a gripping recreation of a historical drama. Distributed in several languages on all continents, it has won numerous awards including Ushuaia Exploration and Gemini.

His bibliography includes Black Ice, a children's novel that has been published many times, and The Heirs of Frankenstein, an essay that can be found in most university libraries.
